Great for philosophy majors (human existentialists) and must have been shocking when it was released (1942).
This is a story about a man who truly creates his own reality and as a result seems like a true case of a psychopath. He doesn't care about anything. Even after his mom dies. Even after he kills someone. He doesn't care. He only seems interested in whether or not he is physically comfortable.
Bizarre book.
