Sometimes I truly enjoy the ripple effect of such honest comments. And yes, he is right, it was a stupid move. But was it smart for him to comment on a case he didn't know all the facts of? I think not.
while it sounds like gates was argumentative with the officer, i think once you show ID stating that you were breaking in to your own home, you should be left alone.
obama probably should have left the situation alone.
what's most disheartening about the whole situation is seeing how much racism really still exists in our country. one of my uncles (who is in his 50s) made the comment, "i just wasn't ready for a black president." i was rendered speechless. i can't even fathom that people still think like that. let alone people so young. let alone my family.
